4 Ways...
to Celebrate Christmas on a Budget
by Kat Garber
1. Decorate
Decorations are key.  Unfortunately, decorations can be expensive.  Here is where elementary school crafts come into play.  Find a piece of paper, fold it according to the directions seen here, cut away, and then unfold.  Voila!  Instant Christmas festiveness via snowflake. Repeat as desired.
2. Listen
Few things put me in the Christmas spirit more than Christmas music. Around this time such music is easy to find. A quick scan of your local radio stations should offer you some musical cheer. I advise singing along loudly to enhance the effect. 3. Read
The Christmas story in the Bible is a wonderful and amazing account of God’s love for us. At some point this season, make sure to read over Luke 2:1-20. Then, follow the example of the Shepherds and go, “glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.” It is easy to get caught up in all the hoopla of the holiday season, but make sure to take some time and focus on the real reason we celebrate. 4. Party
Get some friends and family together, go caroling, hang out, wear Christmas sweaters, have a snowball fight (or just pretend if snow isn’t available), eat Christmas cookies, call and wish someone “Merry Christmas,” and make some memories. Lots of people came together in the Christmas story, and I think we should do the same. Christmas is a time for remembering what is important, and friends and family should definitely be near the top of the list. The Amalgam Home
