Lauren: hay kid, you talked to chris?
TJ <AUTO-REPLY> : I'm around the house. Leave a message.
TJ: kid? you're the kid, kid.
TJ: and no, i haven't heard from chris
Lauren: for just 4 more days
Lauren: have you emailed him?
TJ: negative
Lauren: then i doubt we'll here from him. i think he told us what he wants and is just expecting us to send him a conversation
TJ: you wanna do it right now? i'm not busy
Lauren: sure, let me get a plate of supper, i'll be right back
TJ: hahahaha
Lauren: my tummy is hungry. ok i'm good now. squash zucchini, and beans
TJ: hahaha
Lauren: ps, i could cut off at any time
Lauren: ok, where do we start?
TJ: well
TJ: let's go over what chris told us
Lauren: k, we are supposed to talk about starting college, and good and challenging experiences
Lauren: i think
TJ: alrighty
TJ: well
TJ: what were your thoughts going into furman? expectations, hopes, fears, etc?
Lauren: hmm
Lauren: i was excited to be gettin out of royston and having to be who everyone wanted me to be and expected me to be. i wanted to be able to grow up, to make my own decisions, and to be myself. i was afraid of being the dumbest one at school and that people would be too stuck up to want to have anything to do with me. but i hoped to learn a lot and meet some encouraging christian people
Lauren: how about you?
TJ: i was really glad to be getting away from home because honestly, i had just gotten bored with the lexington routine. my road to furman was a bit crooked and curvy - i felt like i was the only person that year who didn't apply to furman alone. but i felt like God had brought me to Furman for some reason. God made some crazy stuff fall into place for me to arrive there - other schools not exactly working out, certain programs at furman that were exactly what i was looking for (EVM), scholarship money, etc. there were lots of things that made me really excited about my first year - football season, knowing some fellow freshmen like taylor cox, who was my roommate ... you know.
Lauren: i am glad i didn't have to get a random roommate. i was lucky to have my twin, but most people seem to have good roommate experiences at furman.
